Okay i don't know a TON about postmodernism but I'm gonna kinda ramble about what i do know.
Well this week i had an actual run in like serious convo with a postmodernist. I'm not gonna say with who or where cause momma said not to. :( But none of y'all know em, but I'm just gonna have to get over it.
Anyways we were talking about dating cause it was part of our bible study and i don't know how but we went on a bunny trail and started talking bout bad company. How if you hang out with knuckleheads you'll become a knucklehead. And this dude was like "well thats not set in stone" and mom and dad were like "well the bible says it is and time and time again thats been proven correct." And the guy was like " well i don't believe in absolutes"
Now im gonna pause there for a second.For those of you who don't know what postmodernism is, its basically where they think there are NO absolutes. Its what the individual believes is true then that's the truth but, if someone else believes that that wasn't true and something else was then that's true. Hopefully you get what i was saying. In a nutshell its everybody has their own truths and to them that's the truth even if its not. Now a week earlier we had a convo on postmodernism and how that its wrong. And that there are absolutes and even when they believe something they believe its absolute so they're contradicting themselves. Got that? Good.
back to the story now when he said that he didn't believe in absolutes i knew exactly what my dad was gonna say. and guess what he said.......exactly what i knew he would. So Dad says "so you absolutely believe there are no absolutes" And the kid go's "yes exactly". Now thats where im gonna stop but just think about it. Thats what they're teaching kids in public schools. That whatever you believe is true is true and thats NOT true. And thats sad because theyre leading them very far astray.

thats crazy. thats one of the reasons my parents took me out of public school last year. I know a couple people who believe that way and its kinda hard for me to get along with them. Its good that you guys were standing up for what you believe in!! by the way... i kinda sorta..... well.... i LOVE your background :)
